Jennifer McDaniel
DVM, Practice Limited to Oncology
Dr. Jennifer McDaniel is originally from Michigan and attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) as an undergraduate, studying natural resources and the environment. She earned her veterinary medical degree from Michigan State University. Following veterinary school, Dr. McDaniel completed a one-year rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals followed by a one-year medical oncology internship at The Oncology Service in Washington DC. To pursue her passion for medical oncology, Dr. McDaniel moved to Connecticut and completed a three-year medical oncology residency at the Veterinary Cancer Center.
Dr. McDaniel was introduced to medical oncology by her dogs Wembly and Kirby. Wembly and Kirby both developed and were treated for cancer. The gift of extra time with her dogs and seeing how well they handled cancer treatment inspired Dr. McDaniel to pursue a career in veterinary oncology so that she could give that gift to other animals and their people. When not in the clinic Dr. McDaniel enjoys spending time with her husband, stepson, cats, dogs, birds and especially her horse.
